General Board Member Responsibility Descriptions



• Ensure knowledge of The Hope Chest’s vision, mission, services and policies.
• Follow confidentiality policies of CMH and maintain confidentiality of board discussion.
• Assist the board in carrying out its fiduciary responsibilities.
• Provide candid and constructive advice, areas to improve and comments.
• Support events and activities by attending and promoting opportunities in the community to friends and colleagues. 
• Attend all board meetings.
• Function as a goodwill ambassador and spokesperson for The Hope Chest and its programs. Inform others using personal social media, email, etc.
• Adhere to all legal, fiscal and ethical responsibilities the board carries. 
• Willingly serve as public representative of The Hope Chest. 
• Serve on at least one committee.
• Volunteer when needed at the store (ie seasonal change over).
